Is Shop Builder a standalone app?

No. Shop Builder is an add-on for Pinegrow Web Editor. It is distributed in the main Pinegrow install package, there is nothing extra to download. You do need a Pinegrow license that includes the Shop Builder for WooCommerce.

I already have Pinegrow Web Editor. How can I upgrade to the Shop Builder?

Can I use the Shop Builder without any prior WooCommerce experience?

You should be familiar with customizing WordPress and WooCommerce from the developer perspective, to take the full advantage of Pinegrow WooCommerce. No matter what tool you are using, it is always helpful to understand how things work and what the generated code is doing.
