Improved Visual Studio Code integration

The latest VS Code extension update and Pinegrow 5.973+ solve make the workflow even smoother.

In case you didn’t know, Pinegrow Web Editor and Visual Studio Code can be connected together so that all edits are immediately reflected in both editor, without having to save the file first.

Pinegrow VS Code extension needs to be installed in VS Code for this to work.

Until now this workflow was not perfectly smooth:

When file was saved in Pinegrow, VS Code kept the file status as modified and if the file was then saved there, it popped up the message asking if it is ok to overwrite the newer file.

Today we published an update to our VS Code extension that solves this issue by silently reloading the file in VS Code after it is saved in Pinegrow Web Editor.

To prevent any data loss, the file is reloaded only if the content in the editor is the same as the content in the file.

On Pinegrow’s end this new feature requires Pinegrow Web Editor 5.973 or newer.

VS Code should automatically update the extension when you run it next time.

The same feature is also available for Atom editor.
